新华网10月17日电 据英国《太阳报》报道，英国一位名叫杰斯·克尔的幼儿患有先天性染色体异常疾病帕陶综合症（Patau综合症），这种病常常会让她忘记呼吸，因此每天要被“救活”五次。在全英国，患这种疾病的幼儿不到200名。

杰斯从出生起就一直在和这种疾病作斗争，需要24小时有人进行不间断的监护。

医生曾告诉杰斯的父母，杰斯不会活过四周。但杰斯16号刚刚庆祝了他的一周岁生日。

杰斯的妈妈梅莱尼今年38岁，莱斯特人，已经有6个孩子了。她说：“刚开始医生告诉我们孩子的情况时，我几乎被击垮了，对我来说，这是毁灭性的打击。现在也是要一直不停地为她担心，我每时每刻都要陪在她身边，半步都不能离开。但她是个小战士，我无法用语言形容自己有多么自豪。她真的做到了！实在太棒了！我们接受拥有她的每一天，她的生日对我们来说有特别的意义。”

BABY Jess Kerr has to be resuscitated five times a day because a genetic condition means she forgets to keep breathing.

She was born with Patau syndrome — a chromosome abnormality which affects fewer than 200 UK tots.

Jess has battled the condition since birth and needs 24-hour supervision.

Docs warned parents Simon and Melanie that Jess would not live past four weeks but yesterday she celebrated her first birthday.

Mum-of-six Melanie, 38, of Leicester, said: “I was crushed when doctors told us about Jess s condition. It was just devastating.

“Now it s a non-stop worry — I can t even leave her for a few minutes.

“But she is a little fighter. Words can t describe how proud I am.

“It s extraordinary that she has made it, we just take each day as it comes. Her birthday is an extra special day.”
